Volley by the James is a “Stay and Play” event held in Richmond, VA over the Martin Luther King, Jr weekend.
2026 registration open until December 1st.

General Information
Online Registration Through SportWrench
Teams are accepted on a "first paid, first accepted" basis. Teams living outside a 50 mile radius must stay in our hotel block and book their rooms through the housing bureau. Registration will remain open until division is filled.
Entry
Entry fee is $775 for all divisions if paid by check. To complete payment, RVC must receive check or cc confirmation and proof from 288 Travel that hotel reservations have been made. There will be a non-refundable surcharge of $30/team if payment is made by credit card. Each team is guaranteed 7 matches (or game equivalent).
Admission
Spectators will be able to purchase either a one day pass or a weekend pass to gain entry to the tournament. All passes are delivered electronically through a QR code and each person attending will need to present a photo ID and their own QR code for entry.

- All refunds must be requested via email.
If you are playing in this event, make sure your free University Athlete profile is up to date so college coaches have your correct Graduation Year, Commitment Status, and Contact Information.
